(Soldier)
Basically a Mad Max/Road Warrior ripp-off board game. 200 MPH Thunder Road:200MPH is a new unity 3D racing game full with adrenaline. Speed is in your blood and if you want to be the first in every challenge you need to push your car limits and reach 200mph. Every challenge you win will bring you more money to upgrade your car. When you will have the perfect car you will be undefeated.
So I've been working on a variant.I want to keep the basic Thunder Road concepts including:
1. Dice based movement
2. Switch-and-lock boards
3. Original aesthetic
4. d6 based
5. NOT A FIDDLY WARGAME with a 40 page rulebook. Fast learning curve, fast setup, fast gameplay
But add:
1. EXPLOSIONS!
2. Bigger boards!
3. More tactical options!
4. Vehicle upgrade cards!
5. More vehicles (motorcycles, war rigs, etc.)
So far I am still brainstorming ideas for actual game play, but to get inspired I have created the boards that will be used:
I've edited out the lines, and seamed the boards together to double the play area.
The board still needs the addition of a hex-grid for movement. I wanted to switch to hexes so that vehicle facing will become a part of movement. This, along with ranged attacks, will allow for more tactical play, and even head on collisions. The board allows for roughly the same number of hexes as rectangles on the original.
Here is my mock-up of the hex grid:
But I need help!
1. Graphic Design! The board file is HUGE(600 MB)because I seemed everything together out of hi-res TIFFs. My computer is can't handle anything more, so I don't have the ability (or expertise) to add a proper grid. I need a Photoshop wizard to help create hi-res printable files!
2. BRAINSTORMING! Below I have created reserve spots for my thoughts on the different vehicles, vehicle upgrade cards, combat, and scenarios. I'd love some help coming up with ideas.
3. Way 'down the road': playtesting.

Thunder Road (a.k.a. ThunderRoad, Le Survivant)[1] is a post-apocalyptic themed racingboard game invented by Jim Keifer and published by Milton Bradley. Using an assortment of four different vehicles each ranging from a modified dune buggy to a gyrocopter, players must race down an infinite roadway against one another. The goal of the game for players is to either be the last player team alive (e.g., eliminate all other player vehicle teams) or simply out race (i.e., out distance) the other teams. Although the game was originally published by Milton Bradley in 1986, Hasbro currently owns the rights to the game, since it acquired Milton Bradley in 1984.
Game play[edit]
After the game pieces have been assembled (first time setup time can be approximately ten minutes due to game piece complexity), the switch & linkgame board has been set up with its appropriate hazard areas (wrecks), and player colors have been selected play begins. Initial play consists of each player rolling three yellow dice and moving their vehicles for the number of spaces rolled on a per die per vehicle basis. Once all players have done this, the rest of the game proceeds with each player rolling to move and also trying to attack opposing player vehicles.
Attacks can be done by a player ramming their vehicle into their opposition's vehicle, shooting at their opponent's vehicle with vehicle-mounted artillery or using their aerial vehicle (the Thunder Chopper) to attack. As play progresses along the game board, it is constantly extended by using the back portion of the board; the Rear Board. Indeed, a way in which a player can beat an opponent is by getting all of his cars and chopper onto the forward-most game board (Lead Board) faster than his opponent's vehicles. If a player is lagging too far behind and is still on the rear-most game board section (Rear Board) by the time another player has reached the end of the Lead Board, any vehicles on that portion of board are permanently removed from the game; this suggests that the car was 'outrun'. An exception to this rule applies only to the Thunder Chopper, it can stay in play as long as a player has at least one running car remaining.
